Miami did their best to blow a 20 point lead, but they held on 96-95. Henderson hit a shot from near halfcourt at the buzzer but thankfully, Jack McClinton made two free throws with just under two seconds remaining.

It's things like this that make me think if we win out (and that's a big IF), we still have a shot at a 1 seed. Duke will lose again this season, so will UNC, UCLA, Kansas and Tennessee most likely. If we roll in having won 16 in a row with an RPIin the top 5, we'd have a very good argument for getting a 1 in my opinion.

By the way, according to RPIForecast, we have a 16% chance of winning out to end up at 30-4.

A 1 seed is unlikely of course, but possible. Obviously as you say X has to win out, and of course you'd need some losses from the teams at the top. Not likely, but possible.

Could you imagine the outrage if 30-4 Xavier got a #1 seed?

In 2004, St. Joe's went 27-1 (14-1 against the RPI top-100), and Billy Packer's head almost exploded when St. Joe's got a #1 seed.

It has happened only once in the past 10 years. Last year, 30-3 Memphis was a 2 seed. However, their RPI was 8 with a SOS of 75. They were also only 1-2 vs the RPI top 50.
