Killing it so far. -3 through 8 holes.

Our Xavier grad caddy (on Ryan Armour's bag) had a good day today, too, with Armour finishing -3 in a tie for fifth. He was due a good performance after missing 10 straight cuts.

Birdie at the last to finish -5, T2 & one shot back. That little Princess Di on #16 cost him a share of the lead.

Daniel Chopra with a 9 under through 17 holes today. Wow. Good start for Jason, too, at 2 under through 3 and 7 under overall, two shots back of Chopra.

Now J is 3 under through 5 and 8 under for the Tourney. Still 2 shots back. Chopra is done for the day at 10 under.

Another birdie on #18 to post another 67 and stands T1 w/Chopra..
In fact Jason played much better on Friday--drove straighter, more GIR. He has to be full of confidence heading to the weekend.

This Kokrak character seems to really suck at golf.

Here's a write-up.

Kokrak Tied for Lead (http://tourreport.pgatour.com/category/tournaments/nationwide-tour/)

Thing is, even though Jason has clinched his Tour card, if he finishes #1 on the money list, he moves up two important notches in the pecking order as far as automatically qualifying for entry in 2012 PGA Tour Tournaments.

It is going to be damn fun watching this Musketeer on the Big Stage next year.

MOR: A third win this week would generate the "battlefield promotion" for PGA purposes which is even better/higher standing.

Not rooting against Chopra, but always a tough chore to back-up a great round like Chopra shot Friday. Will not be surprised to see Chopra slip back into the pack tomorrow.

2 up through 16. On the Golf Channel coverage, they mentioned that they spoke to Doug Steiner, XU's Coach who is down there this week.

Only problem is that they did the typical mispronunciation Eggs-aver.

Bad start for Jason dropping 3 strokes on the first two holes. Now 4 shots back with 13 to play. Not looking good for a Tour championship and a spot in next years Players Championship. He may just have to settle for a regular old Tour card.

He's at the top of the Jacksonville paper's golf page in the sports section. I hope to see him there for many years to come - preferably Friday through Monday.

Finished 5th with a nice couple of birdies down the stretch. Another 75. The Tour card ceremony is supposed to start at 5:30, and I believe the Golf Channel will cover it live. If not, PGATour.com will show it.

For those wondering Jason is currently ranked 188th in the world and 69th in the US. Also, Jason Sobel of the Golf Channel had this to say when I asked him if Kokrak could succeed on the PGA:

Haven't seen much, but from everything I hear, yes he can.
