Bud Selig has put on the table that one franchise might need to be replaced. Let's just call it the "Nuclear Option".

Cincinnati barely even supports the Reds anymore.

The Dodgers would be one helluva pickup for the Big XII if MLB kicks them out.

Why would the elimination of the Dodgers allow Cinci to get a second team? I'm not getting the reference for two teams?

More sarcasm font required.

The elimination of the Dodgers would require a new expansion team, though, because you have to have an even number of teams in baseball.

Maybe it is time to put a team in the Carolina's or better yet Vegas.

I think Portland makes the most sense. They support the Blazers so well and the Mariners need a geographical rival pretty badly.

And you can get to the games via trolley.

The Reds attendance was actually pretty good this year at GABP. They had the highest attendance since 2004 the ball park's second year at 2.2 million people. We drew better in the days of the Big Red Machine with averages over 2 million people for 8 straight years.

If the average NL attendance is stll 2.5 million per year (the historical stats I found only went through 2009), we are just below average with a limited payroll.

This is not to say we are ready for MLB team #2, but if the Reds win, people will go to their games. If they suck, people stop going. Bob Castellini should understand this just fine by now.

Folks, the Dodgers aren't going anywhere. It was a legal argument to explain why the Dodgers can't use the BK system to write their own deal -- screwing over MLB and Fox in the process.

Are you being facetious? McCourt is going. The Dodgers are not.
