Klinsmann's debut tonight. Looking forward to seeing a fun game.

No doubt, it won't be a complete change if any at all. Pretty much figure there'll be glimpses of a new style, but it'll take a few years I feel before we see a real change in US soccer.

Either way, I truly feel he's the change US soccer needs.

Goal. And Castillo still sucks.

US played 10-back defense for a half, then actually seemed to be cut loose to attack in numbers in the second. Local Crew guy Robbie Rogers does NOT blow the golden feed from Shea for the US goal. And the referee must require murder most cruel to give any red cards. At least three instances of looking the other way.

Still, Mexico controlled most of the game with wonderful footwork, teamwork and one touch play. Nothing DC can harrangue me with persuades me that the US should be rated higher than Mexico.

For a 10-15 minute stretch on the second half we possessed the ball very well and played with some really nice creativity.

I agree, that was encouraging. But granted that even Spain can't dominate a game for 90 min, unless the US can do that for more like 4-50 minutes against teams at the level of Mexico (let alone the Euro and SA powers), we are a long way from being competitive at the next level.

Emp,

Seeing as you're friends with MOR and therefore must be a classy fella (besides having the brief opportunity to meet you in Cleveland), I'm only assuming that the multitude of spelling errors throughout your two posts indicate that you were drinking some fine beer/whiskey/bourbon/scotch. Congrats, my friend. :D

I didn't watch the match, I was out getting hammered with a woman.

But I didn't need to watch to know I don't care about being rated higher than anybody. We tied Mexico. That's all that matters.

Congratulations - even _LH acts like he's been there before.
