Just watched this on my laptop. It sucked.

Is there anyting more pretentious than "mumblecore"?
Last spring i went to the Esquire to see "Greenberg" cuz I read a New Yorker review while I was stuck in a Bethesda waiting room. Two hours of Ben Stiller pretending he is that dude from Yo La Tengo.

Only New York liberals think indiscernible dialogue qualifies as art. I blame Robert Altman. A great director, no doubt. But I never got the praise he got for his pseudo-verite overlapping dialogue. It makes sense in MASH when you have the chaos of an operating room. It's just plain stupid and annoying in a film like "Shortcuts."
