Xavier began its 2007-2008 season with a 74-51 victory over Georgetown College at the Cintas Center last night. Overall the starters played well, after brushing off a little rust.
Highlights:
Josh Duncan scored 18 points (6 of 6 from the line) to pace the Musketeers
Drew Lavender scored 13 points and dished out 6 assists. The Musketeer offense was noticeably more smooth with Drew at the controls.
The Musketeer debuts of C.J. Anderson (5 points and 11 rebounds) and Dante Jackson (2 Assists in 11 minutes of play)
B.J. Raymond scored 14 points in just 20 minutes of action.Lowlights
Josh Duncan, the starting Center, has only 1 rebound.
Stanley Burrell scored just 2 points in over twenty minutes. While at point, the offense stuttered.
Charles Bronson logged eight minutes, but no other appreciable statistics.Next up for the Musketeers: Southeastern Missouri State at Cintas.
