In 1982, Toto released their hit "Rosanna." Seven years later, Terrell "Tu" Holloway was born. (Side note: I can't believe I was entering my Freshman year at Miami when Holloway was born. That makes me feel ancient.)

Back to the present: In December, while my son and I were driving to Cincinnati for Redsfest, somewhere near Bowling Green the song Rosanna came on. When they got to the chorus, my son asked why they were singing about Tu Holloway.

Skip to the 1:05 mark to get to the chorus.

I think Tu should consider making this his theme song.

That is awesome. Nostradamus has nothing on Toto.

Kind of like Elton John's famous hit "Hold Me Closer Tony Danza" came out years before he outed himself from the closet.

I will never sing along with that song the same way again. It will forever be "Meet Tu Holloway"

Agreed - It's forever changed. I think the pep band should learn it. Hell, I'd sing it loud and proud in the stands.

That's a great idea. Just the chorus part after he makes another of his spectacular plays.

That is hysterical! A Toto song of all things. If I had time and access to the editing programs I used to, I could come up with a hell of a video to this song. Anyone?

Time is the problem this year. I haven't even been able to do the avatar updates I planned. Some of the practiced lyricists on this board could probably re-write the whole song.

JimmyTwo's photoshops and Titan's sign have more than made up for the current absence of said avatars. But if they do resurface, we'll be waiting.

Appropriately, should be played in the Richmond locker room at half time.

The more we can promote Toto, the better. I credit Toto with our 23-point margin of victory on the road. In honor of his 33 points, Toto should consider changing their name to To.

Thanks, I'll never hear that song the same way ever again!

It does sound, like all the world, "Meet Tu Holloway!"

Can we get this into the music rotation at Cintas, it can replace Party in the USA!

This is obviously a very deeply thought out, and perfectly executed plot. Hatched by those absolute masters of marketing, Toto,
Think about it, they made millions, really, millions of dollars singing some very half assed pop songs. All it took back then was to name themselves after the best knownm"little dog" ever, and write a song about a relatively hot movie star. They are only rivaled by Christopher Cross in their ability to turn absolute horsecrap into gold.
Jump to a new milenium, they're running low on cash, they hatch a plan along with Xavier University, the athletic department, and one Terrel Holloway. To disquise it they come up with the ruse during his sophomore year that his "nickname" was TuTu. And of course all the stories about Coach Mack forcing him to "earn" the name change to Tu.
Brilliant I say to you Toto. You will more than deserve the millions of dollars that come from a renewed popularity in that tired old song, Bravo!

I think it would be appropriate to identify all aspects of Tu Holloway in pop culture. For example, take the RHCP song "Under the Bridge."

At 1:26,

"I don't ever wanna feel,
like I did that day.
Take me to the pace I love
Take me, Holloway"

Just want everyone else to join me in this pre-pre game preparation.
Woke up today with that portion of "Rosanna" in my head, I'm determined to keep that going over and over and over throughout the entire day.

Need some help with the melody?
