Is it true he proposed in the Dana's parking lot with a pull tab from a can of PBR?

Congrats Thor! Sounds like the ring shopping turned out ok after all.

Add my sincere congratulations. I also believe he has retired the moniker "Chickey" from his lexicon forever. In other words, brothers and sisters, it's banned.:D:logo:

Maybe now they'll get busy and have some "Chicklets".

The XH staff is dropping like flies around here. Any mods still single?

PM Sif?

In Norse mythology, Sif is a goddess associated with the earth with famously golden hair, and the wife of the god Thor.

It's going to be a very cold day in hell if I turn to the married side.

Most married people with children are conservative, so I am glad to see PMThor taking a step in the Right direction. Walk towards the light Thor.

Congrats to Thor, really.

The only question that is relevant to this board is:

Will marriage mellow the legendary Thor hatred for the dump?

For our sakes, I hope not!

Nope, now she's just going to be Mrs. Chickey Thor.

I don't see it - Chickey's a Cornell fan.

Thanks for the well wishes everyone. It's been quite the blur of a weekend.

No. In fact, HELL No. To paraphrase the Chickey
"I''m buying the season tickets this year, because I know how much fun you have laughing at dayton when they play here, and that's fun for me too."

She gets me.

Not only a fan, but an alum with a degree in neuroscience. Yeah, freaking neuroscience. I'm still trying to figure out how I pulled this off, but I ain't complaining. Thanks again to everyone.

I HATE dayton.

Congrats, Thor!

The base music of "Far above Cayuga's waters" is alleged by Wikipedia to have been "borrowed" by several schools for their own alma maters, including Xavier. Mere coincidence?

My only question is "who's marrying up in this one?"

Reception suggestion: Dancing on the D at center court...but no puking this time.

Congrats to you and your fiancee, Thor! I think we all expect to hear that the reception is appropriate themed in Xavier blue and white, and that the cake is in the shape of D'Artagnan :)

Not to go OT, but the Colts quiz scene during "Diner" was classic!

Hmmmm.

Given Thor's propensity to shake uncontrollably at even the mention of the word "dayton", she was probably intellectually attracted to him originally as an intriguing nervous system science project.

Then, I guess, the rugged, manly aura of an emergency services worker took over her more base senses.

That, and the fact that he buys pizza for hungry students.

Thor,

Congratulations to you and best wishes to your bride-to-be.

There will be, some 20 plus years from now, young, highly educated Thoronian offspring who will drive north to deftly knock over, without being caught, the crumbling, decaying UD Arena as a gesture of goodwill towards UD, putting the Floaters out of misery once and for all, given that they had dropped basketball just a few years before the secretive demolition.

Congratulations Thor!
I didn't realize there were a couple of Walnut Hills grads on here (including you). I am a Moeller grad, but I played in a band in high school with all Walnut Hills people. It was probably a little after your time at WH.

I have a really good friend who also attended Cornell. His name is Andrew Bernard. I think he's still in PA.
