Thought i'd throw this out there in case anyone was interested in commenting. As stated in another thread, this game is huge for the A-10's bid for 5 teams.

I'll be pulling for Saint Joe's.

It's at Saint Joe's.

where did you find this out?

Actually, you are both right.

The game is listed on St. Joe's schedule as a home game, and on Villanova's scheudle as an away game.

However, the venue for the game is listed as the Palestra, not Alumni Memorial Fieldhouse, or The Pavillion at Villanova.

Think of it as being similar to if we held the Crosstown Shootout at US Bank Arena every year. It's technically a neutral site excpet that each year they alternate who is Home and who is Guest. (Except I think that St. Joes uses Palestra for their big games, and I recall reading on the St. Joe's forums that next year they will use Palestra for all games as they undergo a major renovation/replacemen of Alumni Memorial.

And it's settled... Yahoo normally notes a game not played at the Home team's site. It didn't this time.

Phil Martelli just told his team only one outcome is acceptable. Straight to the point.

saint joes is favored by 4.5 so hopefully, they can get this win for the a-10.... no matter what the outcome of this game is, the game on sunday will most likely be for first place in the a-10

Martelli is 2-8 lifetime in this game.

Muskie, I suggest arming yourself with the "Cat" launcher to keep that Villanova announcer in line.

10-4 Hawks. So far, so good.

And before I forget:

Anyone else getting a bad digital video signal in the early going or is it just my local cable company. Seems to happen a lot on CSTV at the beginnings of games.

Signal has been a little chippy - I wasn't sure if it was the receiver or my TV.

Saint Joe's looks ok so far. Nova looks exactly like a team that's lost 4 in a row.

The way this game is going right now, the Hawks better not let Nova hang around for too long. 30-18 Hawks after a pair of missed FTs.

40-22 Hawks, 3 to go first half

SJU 42. Nova 22.

Wow. Now choke them out and get this over....

Did anyone catch the part where they said they would be renovating Alumni Fieldhouse at SJU? I'd be interested to see if they're adding seats or just revamping the seat layout.

This also means that the Hawks will play all their games in 2008-09 at the Palestra; I would love to make that roadie if it falls on a weekend.

45-26 at the half; SJU shooting 55% to Nova's 39% right now.

We need to smoke St. Louis so we are rested for this team on Sunday. They are good.

I'd be happy just to beat Saint Louis, period. They've already beaten URI and UMass at home and took Dayton at their best to OT at home before losing.

We need 'Nova to come back a little bit so they don't get rested up for us...we need them to be a little beaten up

But we still need St. Joe's to win

Keep in mind St. Joe's also plays at Duquesne Wednesday night; they're in the midst of a 3-game stretch in 5 days.

Nice work, Bruno.

I didn't realize SJU had another game this week. Not as much of a factor if you include that. OK then I predict 2-0 this week, roll on.

70-42 Hawks; in the words of Marty Brennaman, this is a good old-fashioned butt whipping.

X-Band: Here's a link to St. Joe's web site with a blurb about the renovation: http://campaign.sju.edu/priorities/fieldhouse.html. Looks like they plan on adding a minimum of 1,000 more seats.

You know we (A10 fans) wil hear it, how Nova isn't a good team, blah blah blah.

Well SJU did exactly what should happen. They smoked them. F the Big East.

Does the A-10 have a winning record against the Big East this year?

QueensbridgeMF

I remember it being 8-8 at some point in December (ormaybe I dreamed that), I think it's close to .500.

Rhode Island 3-0

SJU might just be the best team in the league. They should pose some matchup problems with us. It is the only home game I am really worried about.
