CINCINNATI - The Xavier University men's and women's track teams competed today at the Indiana Relays hosted by Indiana University in Bloomington, Ind. The meet was highlighted by the men's 4x800-meter relay team who broke both the indoor and outdoor record in the event.

The new record of 7:51.44 in the 4x800 was turned in by first leg runner junior Clinton Womack followed by freshmen Sam Lewis and Ben Nathan while junior Luke Beuerlein ran the last leg.

The women's 4x800-meter relay team established a new indoor-track record in the event in a time of 9:26.86. Junior Becky Clark set the precedent running a 2:14 split and was followed by junior Kate Phillips, freshman Caitlin Thomas and senior Caitlin Shagena.

Three runners on the men's squad ran personal-bests including senior Ben Milroy finishing in 14:58.25, sophomore Drew Kaiser in 15:28.57 and freshman Joe Ryan in 16:22.82. Senior Tony Matheus had a standout finish after coming back from knee surgery recording a 16:18.43 in the event.

The Musketeers will return to action Saturday, February 16 when they compete at the Atlantic 10 Indoor Track Championships in Kingston, R.I. The meet is set to start at 9:00 a.m.
