My girlfriend graduated from Notre Dame and yes, it was the Obama graduation. As I understand it, Notre Dame asks EVERY president to speak at their graduation, and so they asked Obama, fully expecting him to decline. They had their "back up" all ready to go. However, as we all know, he said yes. That threw the administration office at Notre Dame into a bit of a panic, but they were able to get things going for Obama obviously.

For people to be absolutely shcoked that Notre Dame would offer Obama to speak, is stupid. They do it for every president, it's a Notre Dame tradition. People took waaaaaaay too much effort getting upset at this. WAY too much spent getting in a fit over it
