Friends of the Program:

Another tough day for the Muslies. Missed opportunities on both sides of the ball were our downfall on Saturday. We missed some scoring opportunities early in the game and our defense gave-up some big plays in key situations in the 2nd half that allowed WSU to keep the ball. We will rebound this week with a much stronger effort against the JV Quakers of Wilmington College!

1 2 3 4 total
Wright State 0 3 10 0 13
Xavier 9 0 0 0 9

Scoring
XU Amyot 27 yard FG
XU J. Deters 16 yard pass from Greenwood (kick failed)
WSU Pflug 40 yard FG
WSU Gould 8 yard pass from Worley (Pflug kick)
WSU Pflug 28 yard FG

Records
Xavier (4 - 2, 3 - 2 MCFC); Wright State (4 - 0, 3 - 0 MCFC)

Wright State made the most of their opportunities and Xavier did not, as the Panthers outlasted the Musketeers in a fierce MCFC battle last Saturday. Four times XU found themselves in the WSU redzone early in the game, only to come away with 9 points. The Panthers found their offense in the third quarter to take the lead and hold on for a 13 - 9 victory over the Musketeers.

Jon Deters had 5 catches for 90 yards and 1 TD; Dan Deters had 4 catches for 73 yards; and Chris Geenwood had 171 yards passing to lead the XU Offense.

The Muskie Defense was led by David Pergolini (11 tackles, 1 INT); Greg Morgan (1 QB sack, 1 fumble recovery); Pat Fagel (1 interception); Wyatt Link (7 tackles); Brett Hoyer (5 tackles, 1 caused fumble); and TK Washington and Dom Ruccella had two QB sacks each. Link and Hoyer also teamed-up to block a WSU punt in the 4th quarter.

The Xavier Musketeers travel to Wilmington next Sunday (November 1st) to battle the Wilmington College JV Team. Kick-off is at 1:00pm. Hope to see you there!

Have a great day !!
