Never forget.

Can't wait for the day when we finally get Bin Laden.

God bless our nation - we need it - and every family impacted by that terrible day.

Bin Laden is dead. He never made it out of Tora Bora.

You can still check out some of the real time coverage on MSNBC. I watch it every year. They run exactly what NBC was running on that day.

A plane just hit the Pentagon. In a bit they will show firefighters streaming into the burning building. Except now we know they are all going to die.

I tear up watching this stuff. It is riveting television.

Never forget indeed. How could anyone?

It really is incredible television. At 10:22 one building has been down for a good 20 minutes and firefighters continue to stream into the building. God Bless the NYFD and the NYPD. What incredible television.

God Bless America.

I just turned on the TV and they were talking about the plane that crashed in Pennsylvania. It goes without saying that the people in that plane were heroes too because who knows what the terrorists had in mind.

Second tower just went down. In Washington they are telling people to take cover because a fouth plane is believed to be on the way. That plane never makes it to Washington. "Let's Roll". I forget the guys name who said that. I need to look that up. What a hero.

Hell yeah they were heros. They would have taken the White House if they could have. Imagine.

Bastards.

I'm subbing for an 8th grade Social Studies teacher today. Watching a PBS video on 9/11 and the efforts to rebuild. Some pretty intense images and interviews.

Todd Beamer. He is a hero.

It is still sometimes hard to believe that day actually happened. I do not know how to describe the rush of emotions it evokes.

God bless and guide us.

Todd Beamer (sp) I believe

Yes, he was the person who said, "Let's roll!"

He was telling his wife what they were planning to do and then said those words to some of his fellow passengers.

I remember being in 8th grade in San Marco's class watching the second plane hit. Remember it like it was yesterday.

I can barely get through this thread much less the coverage on TV without welling up. I dread the day when I have to explain 9/11 to my children and how it has affected me. I wish we could bottle 1/3 of the solidarity this country felt in the months following the attacks. Seems like it would do some good these days...

God bless America. Let the American flag waive proud today. God bless the American souls lost that day and troups that have been in harms way since. God bless those that have returned home and have not been the same since serving duty. It was a sad yet galvinizing day.

I hate this day. Every year I hate it. But I'll never forget it. The one thing that still hangs with me to this day is the utter silence that followed for the days after 9/11. The constant hum of planes was gone, everyone spoke in hushed voices, even animals seemed to know things were different.

With that being said though, 9/11 was the greatest rescue operation ever done by police and fire crews ever. 343.

I am loathe to give OSU any credit. But, I must. During the NCAA's in Lexington against Beaknose, OSU listed Todd Beamer as one of their most distinguished alums on the jumbotron. Class act.

Todd Beamer was 32 years old, married and father of two (one on the way) did not ask for the role he played in our nation's history. However, I think his impact will be felt for generations. Just think, how many of you will sit in your seats if a terroist takes over the plane?

"Let's roll" indeeed!

Everything I read about him made no mention of Ohio State.

I spent the day attending the funeral of a relative (and fellow X alum). Between each event of the funeral, we'd here a new event had unfolded. driving to the funeral home the towers were hit, driving from the funeral home to the church, the pentagon was hit, after mass the first tower fell, and so on all day long.

Now I look forward to the day as my son was born on 9/11/08. While I will never forget the events or the emotions I felt that day 8 years ago, they cannot compare to the emotions that I experienced one year ago on this same day!

God Bless America and those who keep her safe!

Did some quick searches. His dad was an OSU grad. However, I know what I saw and discussed it with my Dad who watched the game with me. Odd. Guy was still a stud though.
