Entering the 12th season - I'm switching the operation to an off-site system which will greatly minimize the administrative work for me.

Therefore, I'm opening the door to those interested in contests like these. Last year's payout was $12,000 so if this interests you keep reading.

There are two games and you can manage them both online with relative ease: The main game requires you pick one NFL game per week using the point spread posted to the site. A correct pick earns two points, a tie earns one point, and a loss earns nothing. The main game pays out the top 4 and also last place. There were 70 people in the main game last year and the first prize winner took home more than $4000.

The second game is a survivor pool called King of the Hill. If you are not familiar with this format, it's pretty simple: Pick one game per week straight up (no point spread). If your team wins, you survive and advance to the next week. If your team loses, you're done and out of the contest. It's a last man standing contest that actually pays the last two.

The catch to King of the Hill is that you can't pick the same team twice. (i.e. if you pick New England week one, you cannot pick them again the rest of the season.)

Both contests run through the regular season only - no post-season. There is a Happy Hour Pay Day in the Cincinnati area each January where 4% of the winnings are used to cover the bar tab until the money runs out.

It costs $100 to play the Big Game, $30 for KOH, or $125 to play in both.

Go to www.wmfp.net for more information (including payment instructions) and to sign up. Xavier fans welcome.

Payment not due until Sept. 13. You can join now and look around to determine if it's something you want to do. I've also accepted "installment" plans in the past for those who weren't comfortable fronting the $125. What do they say on TV...Just 4 easy payments of $31.25!
