Insert completely and utterly shocked face here...sarcasm
104 names in all on list (Not released). But Clemens not on '03 list.
Big Papi quote to Peter Gammons earlier this year (Feb 2009) about anyone getting caught using PED's "Ban 'em for the whole year."

Wow, I really wanted to believe that Papi was clean.
I guess more than 80% were on steroids.
But not everyone bet on baseball while managing:D:D. hehehehe

They need to release all the names on this "anonymous" list. Leaking one or two at a time is a pain in the ass for everyone remotely interested in baseball. Put the list out there and get it over with. Time to move on.
(My pardons for ending multiple sentences with prepositions. My eighth grade English teacher would skin me for those.)
And for everyone who is going to whine about steroids in the HOF...get over it! Should we throw out everyone who threw a spitball or used greenies? Feel free to make a note on their plaques, but they are the HOFers for their era regardless if that era is well respected or not.

I would have bet my life savings on the fact that Ortiz was juicing.
His rise and decline coincide perfectly with the steroid testing timeline. He is a fraud.
But I guess Reds fans like myself have to defend Hal Morris' name being mentioned in the Mitchel Report.

Everyone's going down. I want to believe Pujols is clean, but I wont be surprised if he's been caught in the past

Here's what the players union should do. Contact everyone on the list. Say hey... we want to release a mass list of all the names at once. If you agree you'll be included. If not you can wait around and hope your name isn't leaked in some piecemeal fashion.
Getting all of these names out and over with will help the game move on.

I have been claiming this all along. Yet somehow the media has given him a free pass. WHY???? I realize they might not have had proof, but that hasn't stopped the speculation about other players. Why did they not consider him a possible user when all the signs were there? The Twins released him, the Red Sox signed him to be a possible platoon player at most, he becomes one of the most feared hitters in the game...then baseball starts testing and he turns into a platoon hitter again. Why suspect anything?

To his credit, he's still a beast and seems to be getting better. I won't be surprised if he's caught, but he's proving to be a bad motha with or without roids.

My thinking exactly which is why I didn't need this story to confirm my suspicions. But I also think it is funny that he said that all steroid users should be suspended for a year. He must be one of those self-loathing types.

Definitely....You are absolutely correct his numbers have not dropped but actually increased. And he is extremely vocal about not getting lumped into the "used steroids" category. I hope he's clean. Him and Jeter are pretty much the last hope. If he goes down like ARod did, then the last 20 years of baseball has been a sham. As it is, Selig needs to do something about the homerun records

The baseball card on the left has long been the basis for my suspicion that the man used. Its just the natural weight that comes with maturity he put on. He was a doubles hitter with the Twins.
Just goes to prove my Mitchell Report "conspiracy theory". Mitchell is on the Board of Trustees for the Red Sox, yet none of the 2004 Sox were on the Report. Coincidence, I think not.

Not exactly the same when you are the Pitcher not taking roids, and a hitter who is and has gone fron virtually no HR's to 50 in one year. Pitcher gone from BB cuz the batters were all juiced, but they are still around, just not hitting bombs anymore.

Canseco says theres one guy in the hall of fame he knows used steroids...

"Major League Baseball is going to have a big, big problem on their hands when they find out they have a Hall of Famer who's used."
As much as I dislike Jose, he's been pretty accurate so far...
My guess is Ricky Henderson

Count me third on this.
For me, this is somewhat gratifying to now see Bill Simmons' reaction to this, when he was lambasting certain Yankees (Giambi, Sheffield) years back for using PEDs, and then claiming Manny and Papi were just a couple "regular guys" too stupid and innocent to even be capable of making each other a cup of thera-flu, let alone injecting each other with steroids. Portraying the fun-loving "Red Sox idiots", if you will.
The first shoe drops in the form of Manny being discovered as a user. Then Simmons writes a column after Ortiz's performance starts to tank, claiming Papi is just getting old, and is not involved with the juice. After all, Papi plays for Boston, right?
Well, now we know the truth.

Good thing the NCAA wasn't involved, the Red Sox would not have any WS wins. BTW, Selig is the worst COB EVER, by far. What a jerkoff owner's pawn.

Apparently, Canseco stated on Philadelphia radio last night that he has no knowledge of Henderson doing 'roids. He also sort of backtracked off the comments above and said that he is just sure there are Hall of Famers in general who have used.
Another interesting thing I heard today is that Nomar stated that he knows personally of players who refused to take the test in '03, just so they could be counted as positive tests because they wanted the testing in place. Maybe Nomar is just setting up his defense when his name is leaked. Or maybe there really were guys who did this.

I'll throw another HOF player out there that I'm guessing did 'roids: Kirby Puckett. And, quite honestly, I won't be surprised if a name like Cal Ripken ever got dropped into the mix. For those not aware, one of Cal's best friends in the game and a workout partner was Mr. Overnight Power himself, Brady Anderson. I'm not saying Ripken was a user, just that I wouldn't be surprised if he was.
A few other lesser names that I'm convinced did them: Kevin Brown, Eric Gagne, Kevin Mitchell... (actually, Mitchell may have been named in the, uh, Mitchell report)

MLB came out and said this could not have been done. Only a positive test counted as a positive test, not refusing to take one.
