I know there have been some book threads in the past...just didn't feel like finding them and bringing them up to the top. Sorry for the sloth.

I have to believe a very good book was released yesterday, so I thought I would share. If you enjoy very good writing, a book was released yesterday called The Girl Who Played With Fire. The author is the late Stieg Larsson. His first book, which I have read and was incredible, was called The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo. The book released yesterday was the second of his mystery trilogy, so if you are interested, I would get The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo first before getting the book released yesterday. There is a last in the trilogy that will be released in 2010. Unfortunately, the author passed before he could write any further installments. They are extremely well written and intelligent mysteries. While I haven't read The Girl Who Played With Fire, I have read that it is better than the first, and I loved the first.

If you are going on vacation and need something to read, I highly recommend them. Anyone who gives them a shot....let me know what you think.

On a side note, for those fantasy lovers, do yourself a favor and pick up Kingkiller Chronicles: The Name Of The Wind by Patrick Rothfuss. One of the best fantasy novels I've ever read....an extremely unique fantasy that doesn't come close to going overboard with elves, witches, sorcerers, etc. If this makes any sense, its the most "realistic" fantasy novel I've ever read. Shocking that its the author's first novel. Can't wait for the second book in this trilogy.

Happy reading/listening (for Ipod/Iphone folks)!!!!

A Bold Fresh Piece of Humanity.

It's a good read, and a good reminder of where America used to be, and the direction it's heading.

I am currently reading

The American Disease: Origins of Narcotic Control (http://www.erowid.org/library/review/review.php?p=184)
by David F. Musto

and also reading this to my kids:

Robinson Crusoe (http://www.amazon.com/Robinson-Crusoe-Modern-Library-Classics/dp/0375757325/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1248982640&sr=8-1) by Daniel Defoe

Not sure if I would recommend either. I do need to switch it up some and get something more interesting.
