Rivals released its Top 150 for 2010 today. Here's the link:

Rivals Top 150 (http://rivalshoops.rivals.com/viewrank.asp?SID=910&Year=2010&ra_key=1909)

Here are some Xavier-related notables:

7. Will Barton, 5-star
8. Adreian Payne, 5-star
11. Jelan Kendrick, 5-star
44. Rod Odom, 4-star
81. Jordan Latham, 4-star
127. J.D. Weatherspoon, 3-star
135. Donnie Hale, 3-star

Also, Juwan Staten is #59 as a 4-star for UD. "Small and quick guard is a coup for Dayton." Even Rivals knows what a sh!thole Dayton is! The Flyers are just lucky that kid wanted to stay close to home. And they might strike gold a second time with Payne.

If anyone cares, here's the Top 10 for 2011. (http://basketballrecruiting.rivals.com/viewrank.asp?SID=910&Year=2011&ra_key=2288)

I like that we're in with several five stars:

#7 Barton (come on Bino!)
#8 Payne
#11 Kendrick
#24 Lamb (though not looking good without Book)

And four stars:

#39 Morris
#44 Odom (man has he shot up the boards)
#71 Spearman
#76 Oladipo
#77 Grant
#81 Latham
#86 Collier
#90 Pinkston
#91 Cobb
#94 Thomas

And the best part is that we have 4 schollies to work with. The class of 2010 could be the best in Xavier history, even better than what it was shaping up to be in the Miller era.

Yeah but many of those guys listed either have dwindling interest in XU, or haven't been being recruited for months and months. Plus, you can pretty much throw out all the NYC area guys like Doron Lamb with Book in the desert.

#44 Odom (man has he shot up the boards)

From what I understand, he's 6'8" and can shoot it. That's a nice combo!

And thanks for putting up a more complete list than what I had. I was trying to hurry through it to post a few names so people could get a feel for the new list if they didn't have time to check it out on their own. Your post does a better job of showing just how lethal our 2010 might be.

Sean who? Book who? All I know is we have Chris, Pat, Bino and Travis working for us and that's a damn good deal!

I'm not going to be too quick to count us out on anyone. I think we have a great staff of recruiters (jury is still out on Steele, but I think the other three are top shelf) and they'll be able to continue keeping the interest of the recruits that the last group initially reached out to. I'm really starting to think the 2010 class is going to be outstanding.

As mentioned by others, a lot of the kids from NY we are no longer recruiting because of the coaching change. The guys tied to Book: Morris, Lamb, Collier, Pinkston, Odom, and Shaq Thomas are not in the mix because we no longer have the relationship.

Look for our recruiting class to consist of players that Kelsey, Mack, Bino, and Travis are close with: Latham, Weatherspoon, Payne, Barton, Williams, Hale, Jay Canty, Spearman, etc.

I think once we get one on the board things will pick-up.

Too much variability at this point to already claim it could be the best class in history - we don't have a single commitment yet, albeit hopefully that will change soon.
